LIPS 2025 Travel
About Boulder
Nestled in a valley below the Flatirons Mountains, Boulder is a place of great natural beauty, and it has something for everyone. There are hiking trails, mountain biking, parks, and more for outdoor enthusiasts. With an average of 300 days of sunshine per year, Boulder will make it easy for you to enjoy all that nature has to offer.
For those who prefer indoor pursuits, there are many museums on topics such as natural history, art, and Boulder history. The Pearl Street Mall offers multiple shops, restaurants, and services; it is about a 30 minute walk from the Fiske Planetarium.
Consider adding a few days before or after LIPS to take advantage of all that Boulder has to offer.
Transportation
The closest major airport to UC Boulder is the Denver International Airport (airport code DEN). This airport is about 40 miles from Boulder.
The Regional Transit Department offers bus services between DIA and Boulder via the AB1/AB2 route. This trip takes about an hour and costs $10.
Parking
There is no free parking on the CU Boulder campus, although there are some pay lots near the Fiske. We strongly recommend mass transit, walking, carpooling, or a cab/rideshare service.
